Go Instore is currently developing additional interactivity features for Live Broadcaster as well as heavily exploring augmented reality (AR) and its potential with live video.
Next steps for the company are to continue the growth we saw in 2017 and focus on our expansion into Europe and the US.
In 2017 new partnerships were announced with Farfetch, Porsche Museum, intu, Redrow and Dyson.
Due to the success of Go Instore’s ground-breaking technology, during 2017 revenues increased by 449% year on year (YoY). To support this growth the team also doubled in size.
Our roadmap included the development of functionality such as call transfer and scheduled call, all of which have applications across multiple sectors.
As well as offering ‘one to one’ live video feature for Live Advisors, we created a new feature for ‘one to many’ customer engagements through our Live Broadcaster solution. This enables our partners to broadcast live video streams across their website, Facebook and YouTube channels simultaneously, giving them the ability to demonstrate products, increase online conversion rates and improve customer experience.
New partners we began to work with during the year included Porsche, Axel Arigato, Marriott International and Musikhaus Thomann.
Marriott International announced their partnership with Go Instore, offering live video tours and meetings initially across 14 of their gold standard hotels in the European Convention Network. The adoption of Go Instore’s service continues to grow throughout the network of hotels.
As we grew our client base we began to receive increased interest from large media outlets, ranging from the BBC, to CNBC, Forbes and The Telegraph.
In January 2015 Andre and Aman took the leap of faith and quit their day jobs after reviewing a minimal viable product (MVP) that Zeeshan had built in his spare time.
Securing two innovator clients in Dawsons Music and Amari Supercars, they were able to prove that the technology worked in its ability to connect the on- and offline worlds.
The press was quick to pick up on how our live video technology could be used in-store, with features across titles including Internet Retailing, The Next Web and the Financial Times.
At the end of 2015 we moved to Camden where our office is based now. In the industrial revolution Camden was an important interchange for commerce and trade, so it’s fitting that as an innovator in the current technological revolution, we are based in the middle of this historic business and trading area.
Before 2014 Andre and Aman our Co-founders were old college friends who ended up working together at an eCommerce personalisation company alongside our CTO Zeeshan.
The concept of Go Instore came about from a chance visit to a premium fashion retailer one morning, where Andre noticed there were more staff available than customers, which this got him thinking. At that same time, how many people were shopping this brand online? How many of those people would have liked to have asked an experienced, knowledgeable member of staff more about a product?
After chatting to Aman and Zeeshan and acknowledging low online conversion rates of around 1-2% versus instore conversion rates of around 20%-30%, they quickly realised the business opportunity to improve digital customer experience. It became obvious to them that there would be an increase in conversion rates if you connected online customers with instore staff and experiences. Go Instore was born in the summer of 2014 to prove this, and the rest as they say is history!
